Title: Fitting a single DIN stereo into a double DIN space?
Post by: Welsh Dan on July 26, 2003, 03:39:33 PM
I\'m in the middle of importing a RX7, which should be here in two weeks. Anyway, theres no stereo in the car at the moment, and all I have is a great big hole there instead.

I\'ve got a single DIN headunit, but I don\'t particularly want to be left with a gaping hole underneath it. I\'ve looked on the autoleads website, and they don\'t do a facia adaptor for the RX7, so how did you guys with imports get around it?

You can get a universial pocket from halfords.....cheap!

just use that, i did.  I have attached a picture of what mine looked like.  If you need any help or advice on installing/wiring any of the stereo, just let me know.

Hey Dan,

I had the same problem with mine. Get ya importer to send you over a standard rx7 double din kit. Mine as £45 including postage, came with the following stuff... that one from halford seems to only support single units

best of luck

Yeah, thats a S2000 starter button  :)

If you read the original post, then you will see that he needs it to be a single din space left as he has a single din headunit.  That kit is for double din headunits.......no good in this situation.

I\'ve just bought an MR2 cough!  cough!  :(  and that had the stereo out aswell..... it\'s a right pain getting a single din to fit without paying a rip off 40 quid to autoleads...managed it in the end though  :)  harder than the FD though!
