Title: Fuel Pump & Injectors?
Post by: Nath on June 30, 2005, 09:44:36 PM
When i have my car rebuilt im going to have some porting work done , would i be right in saying that i will need a new fuel pump and bigger injectors?

If so what do people go for and how much am i looking at

Also there will be an FMIC fitted.

Wont be just the porting that desides that, what size turbo, and how much power you are going for.

depends on a lot of things. Other mods, what kind of boost you want to run etc.

tbh i dont quite know ,

mods so far are

downpipe
decat
HKS zorst
blitz filters
Apexi power FC

When rebuilt i will have street port and FMIC

What ever safe boost i can run with these mods?

What sort of power will i see from this, And will i benifit by uprating the fuel pump and injectors?

it all depends to be honest mate. Anything I say will only be an educated guess without getting it on the Dyno.

I reckon once ported you will probably be ablt to run aout .9 boost safely. If you want to go higher you will probably need bigger secondaries.

The only way to really know how far you can push it though is to get it on the Dyno and see when your duty runs out.

Ok so the best bet is to get it rebuilt and then get it on the dyno to see whether i need the pump and injectors?

If you\'ve got the cash and your planning on doing more mods in the future i\'d say do some fuel upgrades now, i\'ve got basically same as you but without the street port and FMIC and on 0.9 bar im hitting 88-90% duty, tried 1bar and it was 95%+ (so not running 1 bar no more:D). If you want to run that boost or more i\'d say you\'d need to upgrade the fuelling, if your happy running a bit less boost and could do with saving the cash should be alright without, but it will be your first step before doing anything else.
