Title: Low grade fuels, Tuning and PFC related q\'s..
Post by: silverfd on June 30, 2005, 01:00:40 PM
Hi guys - excellent site. First would just like to say hello. I have a 92 UK spec FD Touring (fully loaded). I\'m currently stripping for a rebuild. Also have an 82 FB which I will be restoring in the future. Finally, also have a 96 FD - Bathurst Type R. I\'m a bit of a collector / freak - whichever :-)

I\'m in Ireland and my question is regarding fuel grades and tuning options. My 96 is a jap import, bone stock. I have ordered both PFC and Datalogit. Ideally I\'d like to run this car on the ****ty 95 ron fuels which are unfortunately the only ones available here in the South of Ireland. I don\'t want to resort to octane booster / toluene / other alternatives mainly because of the inconvenience so its not the answer for me. I figure with the PFC if I retard timing and add a bit of fuel the engine should be safe. I just need as many pointers, thoughts and comments as possible regarding this. Any advice would be much appreciated!!
