They are pretty cool, I prefer the actual race cars they are inspired by though ... I have some photos of one very similar to that rx3

We spend a lot of time on the NZ forums laughing at the Japanese styling. They look absolutely stupid in my opinion.

People spend a lot of time on the NZ forums laughing at the Japanese styling trends. I don\'t understand the whole flares and wings thing myself. Why do they feel the need to mount the oil cooler back-to-front on the bumper and have the hoses all over the place?? Mental.

These are the type of cars cars they have based their ideas on ... I can see where they are coming from but some of the more extreme stuff I\'m not keen on.

It is a real shame what they do to some of those cars.  The strange thing is that R100, RX2 and RX3\'s are extreamly expensive in Japan.  There was a few that I quite liked on that site though.  Some of the older Celicas.

The yellow and green/black RX3 is a replica of the Katayama Mazda, a factory race car that cleaned up the Jappa touring car series during the 70\'s.  There was a series of Katayama cars, but this one was the most famous. By 1976 RX3\'s had won 100 circuit races, and Mazda issued a V100 model to recognise the achievment.

My RX3 is sort of heading in this direction, I have a set of the flares (check out the pic on the link below where I taped them onto the car - but can\'t really fit them until I find some 10" wide wheels), and have just acquired the factory bob-tail spoiler and front snow plow air dam which will go on the car as soon as they arrive from Japan!!!  I also have the hockey stick mirrors, but that might be carrying the theme a little too far.... and no one here appreciates the "look" - as Hayden has mentioned :(

I think its great ... race cars of that era were no nonsense and very brutal. ACE!
