Apexi adjustable exhaust valve (http://www.neweraparts.com/partinfo.jsp?pid=218)

This\'ll be a handy piece of kit for trackdays and the like, and like it says in write up keeping the neighbours happy, always feel a bit guilty when I take it to a night shift and return at about 5am  :D

Yeah trackdays would be the best use, had a look on bookatrack.co.uk or something similar and they all had noise limits, not sure how id get on, some looked very low.

Since de-catted has become very noisy, which is great :) (especially through tunnels!) but there are also times where it is inconvienient, especially when you\'ve parked up somewhere with the turbo timer keeping it running for another couple of mins

Coincidentally, I just happen to have bought this from Newera, I have a sneaky suspicion that it is the very same one pictured on their site :)

And here\'s a pic of it installed in my (I think) Apexi N1 exhaust.

You can see the spring which keeps the valve closed at low revs, and opens gradually as the revs increase. I found it really keeps the noise down at low revs, but at high revs the noise is pretty much the same, maybe a fraction less. But, more importantly, I didn\'t notice any difference in power or response, it feels just the same as it did before.

My car\'s engine is standard though, except for the exhaust, so I don\'t know whether these effects would be valid for heavily modded cars.

Think yours is a different one to the one in the first link, yours is this one (http://www.neweraparts.com/partinfo.jsp?pid=386) isnt it?

Same sort thing but with spring instead of in-car adjustable, prob a better idea as long as there is no restriction at high revs :)

The main idea of the first one is to adjust back pressure. Normal engines require a certain amount of back pressure to work at its best, where as turbo engines like very little back pressure. But they should have some.

I like the look of those, still see it being a problem on trackdays though, if you are noisy when out there they will still keep pulling you. Handy for around town though!
