For some reason all the companies I\'ve approached so far can\'t find the UK FD on their systems and as such can\'t quote. One even told me that they would have to quote as an import and then put all the differences in spec as factory options which would increase the quote! :mad:

i have got a UK fd and didn\'t have any problems at all. Im with elephant give them a try cause i know insure UK fd\'s.

just tried them on the phone and they only have imports on their system and couldn\'t offer me a quote on a UK vehicle. They quoted on an import but weren\'t competitive.
IF yours is insured as an import with them I would be a bit wary as they will class the leather interior, cruise control, sunroof as optional extras and if they aren\'t listed in the insurance they might use it as a way of getting out in the event of a claim.

Non of those match. Other sites have had a 2616cc RX7 Auto listed between 92-99 but no 2616cc RX7 manual that isn\'t listed as an import.
Getting a bit fed up now.

Yeah I guess the quote ins\'t too bad considering I wrote off an imported one last year and then got 3 points for parking on a zig zag!
Dave - I\'m from Melton Mowbray not leicester. I was out in Grantham on saturday but didn\'t rate the local talent to took an early exit back to melton :P

There\'s a guy who occasionally posts on her as Dai RX who lives in Wymondham just outside melton mowbray who has a montego blue Jap FD. I think there\'s someone with a black one that I rarely see in melton as well.
My mate runs one of the pubs in Grantham so we were getting cheap beer but still couldn\'t make up for the munters that were about.

Munkay, thats a great quote mate, I would say one thing though, make sure they have the right engine cc down. I had a great quote with them but they had me down as a \'96 FD with an 2354cc engine (FC), then the price doubled when corrected.
This was couple of years ago now so hopefully they\'ve got their act sorted with rx7s, but worth checking mate

fook me they dont like mods (or points :D tbh dont think just 3 adds that much cos Ive done a with/without quote for points before and there werent much difference)

They literally don\'t have a UK RX7 on their systems at the minute. They only have imports and wouldn\'t quote me on a UK one. Think they mentioned that would have to quote as an import then declare the sunroof, cruise control, leather interior etc.. as optional extras, boosting the premium further.
Dave, the pub is in the square bit, it used to be the hogs head but can\'t remember the name now. He doesn\'t own the pub but he is the landlord/manager.
