Title: Exhaust temperature Sensor!?
Post by: nikp on June 27, 2005, 01:07:45 PM
While removing my gearbox at the weekend, I noticed that one of the additional sensors that has been installed in my FD is not in fact an oil temperature sensor, but an exhaust temperature sensor.

I\'m wondering, how useful is that going to be!? I can\'t see it being hugely worthwhile, can you!?

Unless you know how to tune them i dont really see it being usefull, i had one fitted to mine when it arrived from Japan but took it out.

At least you will know when not to touch the exhaust with your bare hands!  ;)

in a highly tuned car they can be a good idea..but u do need to know what temp range to monitor..when setting car up u shd know what temp car runs at when on normal driving and what temp to expect when on boost..if u are starting to run lean the egt will be indicated by a higher than normal reading..someone like carl or geff at reworx wld know more about what is a good temp range(as a bonus more defi gges look trick as well)
