Can you get tho`s dummy discs for the rex? the ones that dont work there just cosmetic to hide the rusty real discs?
The thing is iv got advans 3 spoke alloys on mine at the mo and the first thing u notice is the bloody rusty discs lol.. tryed cleaning them with a wire brush n drill but still kinda look naff :yes
Any tips??
Dont stop any air getting to the discs. If you use your FD for any form of fast road driving you will need as much cooling as possible to them.
Best to remove and clean the rust off, then hammerite them.

Im going to try that next and if its still not looking right then maybe get new alloys :wiggle
get the discs machined!
What do u mean by machined lol?
How\'s about a set of nice new rotors? I got a nice pair for the fronts from Geff a while back, very nice looking. Made a huge difference to the stopping power too as old disks where a bit rogered. Cost about £140 all in I think and came with new pads. I think they\'re either slotted, drilled or both - can\'t remember.

Oooo i like that lol..
MACHINED= take the discs off, nip down to your local engineering firm and get them to run them up on their lathe and take a thou or two off so there nice and flat and look like new again, much cheaper than new discs.
And if you get some caliper paint, you can paint the outer edge so it does not get rusty.
I would expect you would have to pay maybe £5 -£10 a disc as its a quick job.
Cheers guys think i like the machined option lol.. will post before and after pics soon :)
u talking about the centre of the discs then? (just checking cause recall some idiot on forums painted entire discs

lol) i used "Zinc ally" paint they use on roller doors etc top stuff so far & looks a bit blingy....
Si
LOL, no Scooby, just the outer edge where the pad does not touch, it usually gets rusty after a while, and if you want nice shiny looking brakes it would be best to paint this outer 5mm.

I actually can\'t think of anything scathing enough as a reply to that question!! But I\'ll try anyway...
GIVE THE CAR BACK, AND GO AND STAND IN THE CORNER WEARING A BURBERRY BASEBALL CAP WITH A \'D\' ON THE FRONT. No, you cannot get dummy discs for a rex because a shop won\'t sell them to you unless you own a front wheel drive car with a gt wing at the back and a 1 litre engine. It\'s the law.
I\'m glad you asked for the advice first tho - and make sure you ask for advice before buying anything else for the car (that might even include petrol, tax or windscreen wipers. I haven\'t decided if you can be trusted yet...).
OK - that\'s probably enough of a flame.
Love and hugs

Ahhh - you were after a roasting!! *lol* If only I\'d known, you could have come to my private club!!
Just one more question then :wiggle
