mine fires up at 2k and will sit there till properly warm then sits at about 850. If you have an apexi you can adjust the idle in the commander, otherwise there is a screw under the throttle body, between the 2 bolts that hold on the air intake. I can;t remember which way speeds up and which way slows down the idle though.

its just realy funny some times it  stays at  1000 then if i put it in gear it  drops by 100 and then goes back up again   and keeps on doing it like the car is casping for air   and other times it sits realy hi   all very odd  :D  ill try  the screw   thanks  for your help :D

I believe they are programmed to high rev briefly on start up (accelerated warm up) before settling down to around 800rpm. Also if the air conditioning is on, this unsettles tickover a bit as the aircon compressor cuts in and out.

1500 rpm is the cold start idle. Once warmed up it should drop to 700-800rpm. Are you running an aftermarket ecu? If not I\'d take a look at the cold start assist system and see if it has any faults or age related wear/damage.

mine when cold revs to 2800 is holds there for a short time then drops to 1300 k till a bit warmer, then drops to 800 rpm on normal idle,

but I have been having a strange idle since yesterday:

if im sat there in neutral it idles @ 800 rpm as normal, but if i put the car into gear the idle drops to about 300 rpm! on the verge of stalling the engine
any ideas (sorry hijack 8o/ )
