HELLO ALL,, i need to replace these and havnt got a clue where to start is it true they should be different plugs from a stabdard twin turbo rx7?
Jamie, depends on the amount of boost your going to be running.
Higher boost requires colder plugs (10-11.5).
I think as standard most FD\'s in the UK will be running 9\'s for leading and trailing plugs. Which should be ok for up to 13-15psi. But this would need to be checked.
Also might be worth looking at some good plug leads whilst your at it. The standard ones might have started to breakdown by now if they are oldish.
Dan
I was running 15-16psi on stock turbos and using 11s or 11.5s L and T with very good results until I had flloding problems in the colder weather.
Dunno whether it was coincidence but after I went back to running the stock 7s and 9s to combat the flooding problem (which it did) I developed a high rpm misfire which I had intermittently right up until the motor came out the other month.
I\'d give colder plugs a go (use decent new leads too as Danny mentions) and see what you think. Less of a good idea on a street car used as a daily driver over short distances though I think.
