Ive had my 3rd gen for a few months now, and it has a greddy boost controller, a few people have said not to turn up the boost to much before getting it tuned on a rolling road or the engine could go bang. Is it best to get it tuned before i really give the car a good hard run and play with the boost settings. Also does anyone know any good tuning places in the berkshire area
Matt, I agree with what you have been told. Get it checked over on a set of rollers to make sure that its not running lean. This is the killer on rotarys when running higher boost.
I think you have a couple of places worth checking out.
Power Engineering in Uxbridge
Tuning Japanese in the Aldershot area
Power Station in Cheltenham
Whilst your on the rollers get them to try a couple of the boost settings, and see what that does to the fuelling.
Easy way to combat this issue is to fit a bigger fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Low down it will run richer, but at the top end it should help.

I notice my car drinks fuel bad, about 12-15 mpg. it also has a HKS fcon fuel and boost thing which i have no idea what that does. But ill check out those places. Many thanks
Matt if ya coming to Billing, they have a Dyno thingy there, capable of 1600bhp, should sort ya out ;)
Power engineering will not work on an rx7 took mine their with my mate who has a saffie cossie. They put it on the dyno to get a print out but would not work on it.
if ya after a tuning place i\'d suggest http://www.jpsmotorsport.co.uk/mainindex.html (http://www.jpsmotorsport.co.uk/mainindex.html) Leons a nice guy and he goes Rx7\'s. Over in Milton Keynes so not TOO far for you to travel!

I understand that a lot of the Supra boys use Leon, and like him a lot.
I might be visiting tomorrow on the way to JAE, as there are a couple of bits I need.b
Dan
yeah he\'s a nice bloke from my impressions, good for me as he\'s local :)
Leons building my mates Supra its currently running about 500bhp he is taking all the parts off of Leons car as Leon is upgrading his car for totb! The work I have seen has been really good.
