Title: Fuel pump life expectancy
Post by: ScuttleRX on June 23, 2005, 07:35:29 AM
Just wondered how long they generally last, is it the type of thing that your recommended to replace when it reaches xxx mileage, or do they just go on and on :)

replaced mine after about 70k miles. Noticed it was runninh lean on the dyno and couldn;t work out why. Stuck in an uprated fuel pump as a first job, ready to fit bigger secondaries if that didn;t work. Luckily It dropped me back down to an 11.2 at redline.

I do believe however that its unusual for them to go that early. When it was on the Dyno Pip told me that he\'s had to replace them at around the 100k miles mark on quite a few occassions but its not unusual for them to just keep going.
