I\'ve got an engineless shell here needing some body work after a slight mishap, got 2 998\'s that I could put in it, but fancy a challenge, alfa boxer fits not bad, subaru prob would too. Its my project for next years imp national, only thing is a 998 on cam is fun!

the imp engines are nice and light too, they used to be used as water pump drives for fire engines. Only trouble is they are partial to head gaskets as standard.

I did see one in oz that had a 13b peripheral port in the back of it. it was attatched to a vw transaxle also. (speaking about an imp of course.) The is a local guy here on Mull who I was speaking to about help with my car and he has 2 clan crusaders. (  I think that s what thye are called.) Once I found out that they took imp mechanicals i was all the more interested.
tell us more, it sounds like fun!

There is a imp trials car in the UK running a rotary thru a transporter box with modded datsun driveshafts & its for sale.

Clan was an imp based kit, althou you could by them complete, lightweight & fun to drive. I know a guy whos currently rebuilding the one of the clan press cars & there\'s a rally one being rebuild in inverness. Theres one up here langishing in a barn along with a few other classics but owner wont part with it. Also as a guy with 3 gen 1 RX7\'s that will go back on the road one day or so I\'m told so wont part with an engine either or let you see what he\'s got hidden away!. There was a nissan A12 powered imp in NZ but was more like a half spaceframe.
