I have been putting my rear end back together so to speak, I have heard of people eliminating the strange rear steer thing that TIIs do, any idea what it is supposed to do and what bit is changed? Pics might be helpful other wise i wont know what your talking about

Piccy from a US forum attached. It looks like there are spaces either side of the DTSS eliminator bushing but apparently this is normal. Also, I undertsand that you need to have a press availble to get these suckers in place.

i changed them on mine but dont have photos. come round and have a look if you want.
There good fun to change. Well to get out.
I had one that had clapsed and that for some reason was a pain in the rear to get the metal sleave out of the casting.
I didn\'t have a press to get mine in and out but once i had the old Bushings removed i greased them up well and they went in easily (i just used a Block of wood and a mallet) you just have to make sure there square. I also found the large bolt that goes through the Bushing has a very fine thread and goes into a alloy casting so is very easy to cross thread.

Thanks Guys,
I take it the eliminators are just solid instead of rubber, like solid engine mounts etc.
I take it that the whole lot unbolts and i can press the hard one into place off the car?
The bushing is like hard Plastic with a metal tube that slides into the center of it. the old one is just a Rubber Bush that has a funny looking cover over it (looks like a srunk base ball cap) the Bush its self is usaly starting to fall apart.
You have to fit them off the car, to get at them you have to remove the Hub carrier from the rear swinging arm. Its basicly one of the bolts that holds it all together.
