Hi folks,
Bit of an odd one this...
Looking to remove my hand brake cover and fit something nice and chrome to match my gear knob. I\'m not too sure how much of a job this is. I\'ve checked the searches and found only one post which stated that the handbrake was moulded on and had to be cut away. The same thing happened with my last car and it was a pain!
From the looks you remove the gear surround and unclip the hand brake gaiter, I would have though the rest would just slide / pull off.
Anyone else tried this recently or could over a few tips?
Thanks in advance

def have to cut it off was looking at putting a momo one on mine expensive but very nice
Hi Chris,
Glad to see your getting her all tarted up for July mate! i need to get mine back from the body shop and get the new stereo fitted and the dash repainted....
Havent got a clue how to take it off im afraid, i have removed near enough everything else apart from that!
Good luck...
Hi Chris,
I did this some time ago - fairly straight forward-will need a stanley knife and just remember that once it\'s off there\'s no going back!!
Firstly snip off the leather look cover, then, if i can remember, you\'ll come to a plastic-resiny type mould, which is glued to the bare metal handbrake lever-now get your solid stanley knife out-bendy type blade not good enough-then cut along and down to the metal lever and eventually, in various pieces, you\'ll get the plastic-resin stuff off--some did come off in big bits-you\'ll be left with some scrappy surface bits on the metal lever, but this shouldn\'t effect the new handbrake fitting-in fact it kinda helps it grap onto the metal lever.
Do it as it makes a vast improvement!! :)

Cheers lads,
Looking at that shiney hand brake I just got to get the stanley out one more time. The handbrake on me other motor came off the same way (in bits!).
Work in progress......
