Title: Temp Gauge Mod
Post by: airmanuk on July 28, 2003, 11:57:35 PM
Hey Matt,

I tried it, but it didn\'t work for me. The behaviour of the gauge was certainly altered, but not in the way advertised. In the article it mentioned that after calibration, the potentiometer should have a resitance around 18 ohms. I think mine was down at about 8. I ran the engine at idle for about a minute, the gauge went straight into the red, and the "add coolant" light came on.

I couldn\'t see what I\'d done wrong, so I took the whole lot out. My car is a \'99 model, which may have been a factor.

No damage was caused, as the gauge works fine, so try it.

Good luck.

Regards

Neil
