Standard ECU upgraded by knightsports on;

12/1/2002

Mapped to 0.9 bar of boost.

It also has the fuel cut defencer so your car should not cut off at 180 kmh.

Please be careful. Knightsports tune their ECU for Jap petrol which I believe is 100 octain.
I have a customer who bought 1 of these S/H & his car went very well for 3 days & then destroyed the engine through detonation

Thanks for you comments.

I\'ve been running this ECU for several months now, so I guess it\'s OK on Optimax.

Just because you have been getting away with it please do not assume that all is OK.
So far we have had quite cool weather & rises in temperature can introduce detonation. Detonation is like a knife edge, you go up to that piont OK & when you cross that point it all happens.
Detonation kills our rotary engines very easily, especially if your engine still has the Mazda 3 piece tip seals. The later 2 piece tip seals are better but can still be easily damaged.
If you need to use this ECU, I suggest that you get on a rolling road where they can independantly check for detonation.
Good luck!!1

Hi mate, thanks for your comments.

I have recently upgraded to the Apexi P-FC and as soon as possible I will get it down to RE:WORX to get it mapped properly. It\'s number 1. on my list of things to do!

The reason for asking about what ECU I *did* have in the car was because I want to sell it and I want to make sure I don\'t mis-advise perspective buyers.

Thanks for all your info and advice.

Cheers
Jon
