Title: congratulations to me?
Post by: Ric on June 03, 2005, 12:12:57 PM
in the words of our famous bish suddenly overnight my wardrobe space has doubled etc etc.

Just split up with Lucy - my fiance - after over five years together. As you know I sold my rex a couple of months ago to go travelling with her and make a fresh start.

I guess the moral of the story is never sell your car for a woman.

Not sure what my long term plans are right now. I have to help her move out at the weekend and then I have to figure out how to get out of the financial pickle I\'ve got myself into until money starts to roll in from my new contract.

Between this and the death of my mate earlier this year it\'s not been the best moment of my life but I\'m determined to try and be positive about it!! count your blessings guys!

Sorry to hear of your tough times mate.

Had you considered going travelling on your own? Where did you plan to go?

All the best,
Jon

we did go travelling for a month and then came back - since we came back things seemed to be getting better but in the end it wasn\'t enough really.

I don\'t regret the travelling as it\'s opened my eyes up and I may well use this as an opportunity to go travelling much longer.

I need to sort myself out financially first though.

Welcome to the \'poor club\' of which I\'m the chairman. :(

I need to sort out a nice little sideline. Financially I\'m living on borrowed time and I suspect I\'ll have to sell the Rex before too long - it\'s just costing me too much money.

I suppose for you at least in London getting around on public transport is better than driving about.

Ric, sorry to hear this mate. I saw you at the puzzle bar, but in deep conversation.

Hope you get sorted out soon.

WILL EVERYONE STOP SPLITTING UP!!! Christ on a bike!!!

It is starting to get out of hand now - popped down to Portsmouth to see a mate last night.  Driving back to GUildford, she phones up and same bloody thing.

Chris - Congratulations matey.  I won\'t seem like it for a bit, but this is a terrific thing that has happened - you have got a fantastic opportunity ahead of you, a summer of lovin and fun and frolics, and you NEED to view it as such.  Ignore the huge **** ball of puss and death that is on the periphery.  You HAVE to have a good time, planning each day one at a time, and you will make it OK, and I firmly believe these things mean you are onto bigger and better next time.  If you thought she was good, wait til you see whats coming.

DO NOT GET ****ED.  That is a horrid place to be.  Stick to soft drinks, be with people you care about and that care about you, and you will do fine.  Trust me, there is a huge turnover of relationships, and some you will be lucky, some you won\'t.

Also - buy a new coat and get a haircut TOMORROW.  Reason - this takes you one step away from where you were.  Your external appearance is something people see first when you are walking down the street.  A haircut and a Jacket will be the first things people see, and will affirm that you are moving along nicely and that you are already a different person with your own life that you are not sharing with her.  Get down the gym - seriously - You will want to look the best you have done in the last 5 years for summer, reinforcing the new positives you have away from her.

Really really really really really really really good luck with this, and it can be a ****load of fun and excitement.

OJ

Never spotted you mate but was a little pre-occupied. Lucy and I met to clear the air. It was good and a nice way to part. Didn\'t want to end things in a bad way!

Just don\'t tell everyone about me looking an emotional wreck.... :(

hope it goes well for ya mate....

I split up with someone i was with for three years not too long ago and jeez what a mess that was! ****ed up late night phone calls, stalking, not to mention when she spoke to me all the abuse! in fact i was about to get an ASBO slapped on her! I did have a few short comings, in case you think i did something really bad to her i didnt -- think she got really mad cos i wasnt prepared to listen to her bringing up the past over and over again. my fidelity was NEVER in question! i hope that you dont get this type of stress i wouldnt wish it on anyone.

being asian, i get to have an arranged marriage, in the end i know im going to be sorted out with someone i like! essentially i get to take my pick of a load of asian beauties!

however in the mean time i decided im going to keep outta trouble and spend my timeon something else (the RX7!!) good luck mate!
Title: relationships
Post by: Jessi on June 11, 2005, 02:40:06 AM
hi Ric,

Know how you feel, But  i can a assure you things do get better! Ive had two big relationships and Im only 23! The first bloke changed me, i think he turned me into his mother!! i got stuck for 4 yrs with him and always did as he said, he was a controling inmature ******d!! So when we split i hadnt had my hair done for years wore no make up and weighed 20 stone!! (Yes for those who have met me its true) So guess what i did when i finaly got shot of him. GOT A HAIRCUT. went blond for the first time! wore makeup and found my friends again. Also lost 6 stone!! in 1 yr. I now have fantstic memories for the years after. I then met another bloke who i got serious with and ended up moving 300 miles away from home! Although it didnt work out we\'re still friend nearly 4 yrs on! The way I look at life you never know whats round the corner.  If id stayed with the 1st bloke i would probaly still be stuck in my horrid lil home town and weiging 30 stone! I would never of met the 2nd and would not be where i am today.

We\'ll im still single and after the initial shock of it all my lifes great, yes i miss not waking up next to someone everyday, but i enjoy going out and enjoying myself without having to worry about what he\'s upto or what he wants for his dinner when i go shopping etc..

What im trying to say is it may not feel like it now but it does get eaiser! Hope things turn around for you soon.

Thanks for all the support!

I haven\'t slit my wrists yet. Actually to be fair I\'m already less bothered about it all day by day.

I helped her move most of her stuff out last weekend and we were getting on really well. Kind-of agreed to see how things go over the next couple of weeks - to be honest though she still doesn\'t seem to want to accept responsibility for what shes done so I don\'t see a future - she needs to grow up a bit.

Why do I always like the crazy girls?

feck.

Anyway - I\'m off to drink some cheap beer and check out the fillies at Kings College student union bar tonight with some mates.

Ahh student days - now those were the times.

I\'d watch out for the fillies - they turn into nags...

Gimme a bell if you want a lift to the pub meet on Tuesday...

well it was certainly and interesting night - plastic pint glasses, cheap drinks and sticky floors. ahh the good old days.

I had a narrow escape as I had a weird, self-obsessed crazy girl trying to chat me up for ages but was literally saved by the bell when someone set the fire alarm off and the whole place had to be evacuated.

I wouldn\'t of minded so much but she still wasn\'t remotely attractive even after all the cheap drinks. I was flattered by the fact that she thought I was 22 though

I think you\'ll find that you just like girls.  They\'re all crazy.  ;)

These days I\'ve taken to hanging out with the ones who are quite clearly and blatantly crazy from the minute I meet them, at least it doesn\'t come as a nasty shock then  :)

Glad to hear you feel like you\'re \'moving on up\' now, it\'s always a ****ty thing to happen but there\'s always light at the end of the tunnel too.

*grin*  so far I have yet to wake up with someone I didn\'t fancy the next day - very proud of that!

And I have a new nickname in my family - Hi, I\'d like to introduce myself as TowTruck.  Because I can pull anything... :D

(better than being called "tug", or because I DO pull anything)

Don\'t worry - I\'ll be gentle... :D

I\'ll clarify my comment - I\'ve never woken up next to someone I\'ve been intimate with that I\'ve never fancied.  Not that you aren\'t attractive, cos you are, but I\'ve never thought of  you that way.  Which doesn\'t mean I\'ll never think of you that way, but for now, I think that is out of the question.  But I\'m not rejecting you, it\'s just that the place I\'m in means I wouldn\'t want to hurt you.  Although I can if you asked, but I don\'t want to ruin our friendship, and you are too nice a person for me to do that to.  It\'s not you, it\'s me, and it would be unfair of me to lead you astray without some promise of a future together, and besides you already have Petra, and that would not be fair to do that this weekend until you\'ve decided to leave her for me, but maybe soon we can get it on, but only when you\'ve made you mind up - ME OR PETRA.

God that got complicated...

My mantra was always:

Its better to try to pull someone out of your league, and fail, than to try, succeed, and wake up with a fat bird...

Here endeth the lesson :D

Is that mantra beer affected though?

As they say: "Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder."

Must remember laughing out load at work is bad for the health.  Particularly with a mouthful of coke.

Where did the screenwipes go.

Mouthful of coke? If it\'s ending up in your mouth then clearly you need to lay off the stuff as you\'ve suffered severe septal damage. At work too - shame on you; clearly they pay you far too much.

Just because OJ has rejected your advances there\'s no need to turn to drugs. As the Verve said: "The drugs don\'t work, they just make you worse..."
