Title: its blown up yet again!
Post by: davehg on May 28, 2005, 09:13:26 PM
so for its had a full rebuild due to a waterseal failure, then after 700 miles that one blew up, now this one has gone after about the same distance, both engines showed knock after the build and no one could find the fault.....

its fair to say im just more than a little p1ssed off at the moment.... so no rotorstock for me, this one sounds worse than the other.... arghhhh:reallymad

Sorry to hear it too. Was it completely standard engine too ??? What work was done to it for the rebuild. What style of driving have you had while your running it in ?

Shame about rs2. Nobody close by that can bring you ?

Sorry to hear that Dave,

Might be time to get an engine transplant rather than keep rebuilding it ??? Just a thought matey :(

Shame you couldn\'t come to rotorstock, if nothing else bring the other car ??

May sound a dumb question but did you have the Injectors cleaned at the same time?

Also i know somone with a problem just like yours kept blowing Apex\'s after the first rebuild, Turned out the Make/batch of seals where out of Tolarance and sticking in the rotors. Some people don\'t check the seal sizes before fitting as they assume there good being New.

it was the same person whos done the las 2 builds, the secondary injectors were leterally straight out of the box. to be honest im ot sure what to do anymore or what to be more p1ssed off with......

Is it not covered by a warranty at all?

If you don\'t mind me asking How did it go? Was Cruising or Accelerating (on boost)?

Did it go in the Same manner both times?

Is the place that rebuilt it a Rotary Specialist?

Thats not good news mate. I would look at talking to your engine builder and see what they are prepared to do about it.

If not then talk to either Carl, Reworx or Dragon, as they have good reputations.

the firt one went on warm up and this one went under boost. ive had all the externals checked over by tim at rx motors who says its all ok (he didnt build it by the way) and the guy who built it said all inside is fine so its not covered under warrenty....

MMMMMMMMMMMM

I\'m guessing it was\'nt done by one of the Rotary elite then.

Did Tim see it after the engine went or before? what was his opinion?

Sometimes its worth paying that little bit more and getting those that know what they are doing, than just those who can follow a manual!

It might also be worth getting the injectors cleaned and flow checked whilst rebuilding.
