Title: what does the air temp sensor do ??
Post by: gavink on May 27, 2005, 07:11:38 AM
Hi....

I have an apexi ECU with commander and notice that i have a fault with my air temp sensor..the temp reading jumps all over the place (sometimes it will read 40 c then sudenly it will drop to -20 c etc etc)...

Does the sensor have any effect on fueling etc or is it purely just so i can see what the temps are...

thanks

gavin....:)

The sensor does affect the fueling, get a replacement.  The colder it thinks the inlet charge is, the more fuel it throws in

Cheers
Jon

strangly the ats has a correction on it that adjusts the fueling. FIT A NEW ONE. it is strange but it works it has been noticed that the ats heat soaks and a 5% adjustment on the apexi will fix it but this is for use on track ( after 5mins you can feel it start to bog when the sensor gets to the right temp). not when you ats is reading 40 degrees then -20 change it and problem fixed
