After having a butchers round my mates FD last night i spotted something that i havent got and havent really seen on any others:rolleyes: He said it was a torque damping rod and it was situated near the brake thingy (back left as you look at the front of the engine) I have seen these advertised at around 100quid on Electronic bay and one of the adverts claimed that these things will make you go faster by doing something to the flywheel??:bandit All very technical, I was just wondering if these are just gimmicks or actually quite a worth while bit of kit.?
Is a engine damper to stop the engine moving..
Sam
Yup - it should reduce stress on engine mounts and the transmission - might make changing gear smoother as everything stays lined up without transmitting too much vibration throught to the body of the car.
Can\'t see any way it could help out the flywheel or add any power/responsiveness.
Like this one i have?
Does all the things ian says.
Im not sure about doing things to the flywheel though...
Thats the thing Donato. Ive had another look on electronic bay and this is what they say complete with spelling mistakes!
ADVANTAGE OF THIS ENGINE TOQUE DAMPER:
INSTALLING ENGINE TORQUE DAMPER WILL REDUCE ENGINE VIBRATION THUS HORSEPOWER WILL INCREASE TO THE FLYWHEEL.
What ever they do i think they look pretty good and might purchase one in the future, thanks for the replies guys:wave
