Title: So what do people think about this kit?

Seems a good price - there must be a catch (Other than loads of people might bid and drive the price up). Is it really that easy: remove doors, remove hinges, bolt kit on, attach doors - and hey presto! Lambo style doors?

I reckon if you\'ve got a spare £300 notes it could be worth a look, but I personally would like to see a kit fitted before parting with that kind of cash.

God knows how it works, guess if you don\'t have to replace the catch the door will have to come out as normal a short distance before it can be lifted.  I\'d be interested to find out what angle it lifts the doors too.  Not much point in lambo doors if you can\'t get in and out... :p

Any kits i\'ve seen you have to remove wings to mount brackets

I\'ve seen an animation of a kit very similar to this (might even be the same one) and it does come out slightly, and then lifts up.

Yes, the wings need to come off, but they do say that no welding needs to be done - which i like.

I have asked them to show me a picture of them fitted - and not just a set of scissor doors on an rx-7 as that\'s not much help. Like you say, for that sort of money, you wanna be sure you\'re getting the right kit.

Gary Marks looked long and hard into the various kits and from what I remember him saying you need one with hydraulics or the doors are way too heavy to lift.  I may be remembering wrong though!

Hydraulics as in Rams? As that kit has the rams.

Or do you mean some special hydraulic kit in addition to the brackets?

But is going for 645.

I remember a couple of threads and a group member buying this kit and fitting it.

From what I remember he is happy with it.

It took a lot of messing to fit but he got someone else to do it and they are willing to fit other kits for a very resonable price, try a search for other threads about lambo doors.

I have been looking at these myself and  I am very tempted to get a set, I will see how the first auction goes

I\'m seriously tempted to get this! It looks like it\'ll fit reasonably easily.

dont you have to extend the wiring loom between the car & the door for it to open properly? That would be a bitch of a job!

Well, thanks for the input lads. I\'ve decided not to go for it right now, as I have to get the fuelling of it sorted (Tomorrow at WGT) which is gonna be a pricey one!
