Guys, finally Got my lump back in, attached the twin turbo pack, downpipe, LIM, Injectors etc the only thing I have not put back in is the water pump,ac,alternator,PS pump.
Just wanted to see if it was going fire up first before putting back the rest of the stuff.
So Im getting compression,Fuel is going in, and I have tested for spark. The engine cranks fine, but it doesnt fire up.
So to all you guys who have swapped out your engines before any tips to fire the bugger up? or what too look out for in case I have missed anything or which my prevent it from starting?
on my new engine, i had a spark and fuel but the only thing to get it going was to tow it up the road. after a couple of nice big bangs, it fired up.
hmmmm might try that, is it because you have to try and get the compression up on the new engine?
Should I try and put some two stroke oil down the plug holes?
I will also check on my commander if im getting signals from the Crankshaft position sensors.
Any more tips guys?
yes. i had 4 bar. if it doesn\'t catch then it floods. i de flooded so many times my garage should have had a helth warning. if it did fire the whole garage would have gone up;)
got sick of it and towed it. it works:cool
if you weren\'t geting a cps reading then it wouldnt be fireing the plugs. so they must be working.
cool gonna try the towing techinque then :)
What speed and what gear did you drop the clutch in ?
second about 15/ 20mph ??
dont run it long if you have no water in it
thanks t2rew, will let you know how it goes
ITS Running!!!!
Took the plugs out in the end they were soaked with fuel, put a new set of Racing Plugs, Charged up the battery fully, Cranked the engine for about 30 secs with the injectors disconnected, plugged them back, et voila!!!! shes running and Boyyyyy is she loud!!!! she was loud before hand b4 she blew last year, but with the turbo porting done by the Geoff, the engine has seriously good compression you can hear it sucking all the air in.
I have a big grin on my face :D now back in the rotary world
Excellent! Did you do the rebuild yourself, or just the removing and re-insertion of the engine?
REWorx did the rebuild itself, I just took the engine in and out myself.
