Title: Spare bolt for pop-up head light?
Post by: TonyBlair on May 15, 2005, 07:51:19 PM
Has anyone got a spare one of these (see below) that they could sell/give to me. It\'s one of two bolts that holds the pop-up head light in place. The head light actually swivels on these two bolts, which is why it has a shoulder on the thread.

It must have shaken itself loose whilst driving. I went to flash someone to let them out of a junction and just one light popped up - the other jammed where the bolt had came out. Could be a nice little mod to operate each light individually, then you could wink at people  ;)

I\'ve done a temporary repair job with a normal bolt with a small bit of metal tubing to create the \'shoulder\' over the thread. It works... but it\'s not a great fit, and I worried that it\'ll shake itself loose as time goes on.

It\'s not a big problem, just something I\'d like to get sorted. I thought there would be plenty of these bolts going round, since a lot of people convert the pop-up lights to normal lights.

All the best,
Jon

Good ol\' Dad knocked something up in the lathe at work - so I\'m all sorted now. It\'s the perfect width and diameter, which is nice since my "temporary fix" was a bit of a bodge to be honest :(
