Title: TurboII Weight and Standard Output
Post by: Jit on May 13, 2005, 10:30:43 PM
Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the stndard weight is of a turbo II coupe 1989.

Also what is the standard output from the engine (to the wheels if poss) and at what level of boost?

Also how can the boost be turned down on a TII.

Thanks in Advance

Jit

1/ Weight is 2845 lbs

 2/ 86-88 NA = 146 HP @ 6500 RPM w/ 138 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
     86-88 Turbo = 182 @ 6500 RPM w/ 183 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
     89-91 NA = 160 HP @ 7000 RPM w/ 140 Ft/lb @ 4000 RPM
     89-91 Turbo = 200-202 @ 6500 RPM w/ 196 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
     Infini IV = 215 @ 6500 RPM w/ 206 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM

3/ You cannot turn down the Boost.....

Well theortically you can do, but not gonna explain this at almost 2am.... :o

disconnect the duty solanoid just by the filler neck,  this will run base boost levels which is about 5 psi,  the stock car runs about 7psi.

1260Kg?  Are you talking about your Purple Uber beast?

I got 1320KG off of the mazda brochure.

What happened to the teg then?

1260 coupe
1320 soft top.
Remove pill in the compressor-actuator line. This will lower boost pressure to about 0.4 bar.

Brett: The radiator decided it had had enough for this lifetime.....it also decided rather selfishly that it wanted to take the headgasket with it to car parts heaven

Grinder: Ive no experience with RWD cars as yet so as a precauton while im getting to grips, im gonna turn it down just so it doesnt catch me out quite as much:)

Thanks to eveyone for the answers too:)
