Title: RX7 Bodykits
Post by: STi_Ver.4 on May 07, 2005, 10:28:33 PM
Hello everyone, will be recieving my black 96 reg rx7 soon and was wondering what body kit to get. I was thinking of:
Veilside rear bumper (VS D1 GT Model)

Veilside side skirts (VS D1 GT Model)

C-West front bumper

One problem is, i dont want it scraping when i go over speed bumps! anyone had any problems with these?

Also, post up pictures of your RX\'s with a kit on and also state what parts you have please.

Thanks!

Hi

I live in North London and speed bumps are a nightmare.  I think you should get a nose and a lip separately.  I scratch the lip quite frequently and to re-spray and fit the lip I get charged around £100.  Imagine if your front was one peace. You will pay a lot more since to remove the whole nose will take time and cost money.  The lip you can take off your self, take it to the garage and pick up next day done.   You still have the car to drive around.  With a nose damaged you are talking ¾ days at the best of time plus if you don\'t need a replacement.  Mazda speed lip you can get of members of this club in a day.

My car has 99 front spec nose and Mazda speed lip and spoiler.

Michaelb

Hi

The car has been lowered.  The front is 5" off the ground.
I have Tein suspension fitted at a cost of £1500.  It is adjustable,
so you can up or down the car as you like.  Worth every penny.  It handles superb.

Re: C-west bumper.  I do not know but I have a feeling it will not fit.  Ask the companies who advertise with mazdarotaryclub.com on the front page.

Michaelb

If you are getting a C-West nose, you can order them in PRP - like the stock nose flexible material rather than the normal after market FRP that will generally disintegrate if you hit any thing with it! Dont think its that much more expensive than the FRP other.

I drove into a mates bomb proof 5 bar gate and my stock mazda nose was unmarked. A C-West rear bumper in FRP I touched with a kerb just crumbled :(

How about the veilside stuff with an RE-Amemiya AD gt kit.

I thought mine would end up this way,
But it somehow got sidetracked.

I got a c-west front with lowered tein.. scrapes sometimes but thats life.. if your not hammering over speed bumps its quite easy to avoid - though that depends on how low ya suspension is

Don\'t know if you are aware mate, but every FD owner and their mother seem to have the C West nose at the moment, they are very common...er..I mean popular.. so you may want to reconsider if you want to stand out
