Title: PFC fitted + remap = plenty of bhp
Post by: babz_audio on May 07, 2005, 07:56:34 PM
this wendesday had the car taken to WGT and got the Apexi Power FC and commander fitted, compression test results were good and had it remapped

was mapped to 0.75bar due to needing bigger injectors but WOW, it has made a big difference, its much faster and smoother than before and is pushing a healthy 430bhp approx

Pip advised bigger injectors with fuel rail, uprated pump and another mapping session at 1.1/1.2 bar and it will push over 500bhp...

just trying to sort things out before RS so i can take it on the 1/4mile and see what it can do

Would recommend WGT, it might be bit pricey but he sure is damn good :D

anyone got any injectors lying about or an uprated fuel pump...:p

it was at fw, Pip said it defo needs bigger injectors so he didnt wanna push for any more boost...

feels amazingly quick tho, so money well spent :)

Title: BHP Figures
Post by: eatmyrx7dust on May 09, 2005, 07:59:56 AM
That sounds amazing...I have virtually the same set up but already have 1600 injectors fitted and engine ported and running at .9 only get 310 rwbhp. Can you post the print out.
I think I am going to have to go back to WGT and ask for my money back !!

Only your fmic is different...could that make a 100bhp+ differrence ? Mines a bigger SMIC.

Are you sure you have a T04R and not something bigger ??

that sounds very low to me. I\'ve got a ported engine a straight through exhaust, large downpipe, apexi ecu, large rad and smic and I\'m runnin 317 rwhp at .7 bar.

You should be getting more than me at .9 with a big single compared to my stock twins. What kind of port have you got?

no he\'s talking flywheel horsepower, your talking rearwheel.

BHP figures are a mystery......some claims seem to be too high for the mods specified.
WGT uses a DynoDynamics setup which attaches to the rear wheel hubs after the wheels have been removed.
Therefore he is only quoting  at the hubs figures.

A rough translation of hubs to flywheel is add 20%. Although he thinks the readings he\'s getting maybe upto 10% down due to unit needing calibration.

The following graph was achieved at two boost settings 0.75 and 0.85.

I had mine mapped by Pip Yesterday. Went from 296.3 at the fly wheel to 332 at the wheels, but again Pip did stress that the machine was between 10% - 15% down on what it should be reading, so realistically i should be looking at 370 RWHP, thats  at 7100 RPM running a T88 @ 0.95 bar.

So i was very pleased until my clutch went on way home My clutch nightmare (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14821)

Couldn\'t have come at a worse time with rotorstock just around the corner.

But nice to see you getting some good results Babz, looking forward to seeing what u can get out of her when mapped to over 1 bar.

Pip did tell me that his machine was reading abit out...

still need to get the graph scanned

Icesurfer, good results but sorry to hear about the clutch problem
