Title: paint chipped off
Post by: michaelb on May 06, 2005, 04:26:40 PM
Hi all
Just my luck. Something else happens when least needed.  A bit of paint came off my panel.  Maybe someone knows or can e-mail me a picture of a sticker I can put on top of the mark.  It does not have to be big, maybe something like “Rotary Power”
Any ones know a company who could design or sell stuff like that?
I know I will have to re-spray the panel eventually.  At the moment I am recovering from a clutch expense.  Touch up will look awful.  What a pain in the rectum….
Regards,
Michaelb

if it is dead central then any graphics co could do a small circular design that wld hide it but best to get a design that has nothing about mazda ie hks/greddy/etc otherwise it wl look funny

Hi

This helps.  You are probably right.  I just took my Tein 6” in length sticker (black) and placed it on the panel.  It looked OK.  I do have Tein suspension at the cost of £1500.  Maybe some other performance sticker would look better…

Have you considered a localised repair?  I\'ve heard good things about a company called chipsaway http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/repair/chipsaway.asp I think they\'ll charge around £50 to repair your chip, and they even come out to your home if you\'re close to their franchise area.

Worth a try and will save you on a respray for now.

Cheers

Hi

I am beginning to feel better and even may have an OK weekend.  I have just rung the company you have recommended and they will call me within the next 24 hrs to discuss the job.  I definitely do not want a re-spray at the moment.

Let’s see how much it will cost.

Will keep you all posted.  Any more ideas will be very welcome especially companies who design stickers…

Regards,
Michaelb

It has been the best £100 I spent on the car.  The result is out of this world.  It took 1.5 hrs.

Thanks again.

Do you have any pics of the after results?  Would be good to see some close ups to see the quality...

Thanks
