Title: Battery Relocation - What size cable is needed?
Post by: Welsh Dan on May 01, 2005, 02:43:57 AM
As above? I\'m thinking of relocating my battery to the boot, to make more room for my intercooler. However, what size power cable is needed? Will 4 gauge be enough, or do I need to go to 2 or even 1 gauge?
Thanks

I used 2 runs of 4 gauge to the engine bay. Its only rated to about 70amps over any reasonable distance and the egi fuse is 120amp. If you want a single run go for 2 gauge. The negative lead is 0 gauge, huge cable !
