what sort of temperature should it be if i tap the sensor into the downpipe? this is for a TII, reason i ask is because i know i can get a better reading if i tap into the manifold but been told if the sensor breaks then it will destory the turbo. anyone know the temperature difference of the manifold and the downpipe?
this seems a bit of a secret as it has been asked before..i have used defi egt before and never heard of the sensor breaking however it is feasible..the reading isnt really better or worse in the manifold or downpipe just different once u have established ur engine is running properly get a normal driving reading and a wot reading and set the warning on the gge for the wot reading that way u will know if u have started to run lean at any time unless u are tunung the car by this they really are a gimmick.i will add one in my downpipe because a bevy of defi gges look good:)
