Title: 18 x 9" front and 18x 10 rear question?
Post by: spiceboy82 on April 19, 2005, 10:31:09 PM
hi guys n gals, sorry for yet ANOTHER offset question but have spent hours using the search function and reading through other posts but still dont feel confident in choosing the correct offsets. Am looking to order these wheels at the end of the month........

have got the chart which can be found here...........

wheel sizes (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.weds.co.jp%2Fproducts%2Fbvillens%2Fspec%2Fbvillens_t8s_18.html&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools)

as said have spent ages reading all the other threads but really want some expert advice, its lowered approx 40mm on coilovers but want the wheels to sit flush with the arches if possible, can someone please lend me five minutes and help with choosing the correct offsets for front and rear? I know that if i go and order them they will only be wrong

cheers for any info

mark

Welcome to a world of offset pain :)

Questions: -

1) 40mm lowered sounds quite a lot - can you post a pic of your current setup?
2) Do your current wheels sit flush with the arches?  (When I say flush I mean almost flush as the wheels should be _slightly_ inside the top of the wheel arch).
3) What is the rim diameter, width and offsets for front and rear?
3) What width and profile are your current tyres for front and rear?
5) Is it an FD?
6) Do you get any rubbing now?

Chris.

Hi Mark,

Great looking wheels.

If it was me taking the sort of chance your going to with no deffinate way of knowing if they will fit l would go for a fair bit of inset knowing that you could bring the wheels out towards the arches inf need be with spacers.

Come on guys there must be somone on here with these size wheels on their car,

Ben what were yours?

A lot will depend what size tyres you run too.

The difference between 235 and 255 is the difference between no rubbing and loads of rubbing.

Hiya, although not an answer to the question I\'m running on my FD 18 x 9J + 18 fronts and 18 x 10J +22 rears. These have 235/40/18 and 275/35/18 rubber on them.

These are too big for the standard arches and rub even when accelarating! Hence the reason for me fitting a wide body kit.
I originally just saw this spec on Immamura\'s APEXi FD and didn\'t think to check if the exterior had been modified to accomidate them! Big oops!! Well all will be rectified soon, so your wise to ask for advice before parting with your cash!!

Heres a pic of the wheels sticking out, I had to raise the suspension so it didn\'t rub all the time, I have a nice layer of rubber on the inside arch from all the rubbing too lol!!;)

Z33\'s have huge arches BTW and can hold 20s with ease!! No doubt its on air based suspension too, getting that low on the street!

Depends if you want show or go really...;)

Having a quick thru my Rays catalogue and trying to work out the Japanese suggests a +40 offset on the front and rear although it\'s still dependant on how much rim (mm) you want, and the model of wheel as it\'s bound to differ from what I\'m looking at!
