Post by: Grizzly on April 16, 2005, 06:36:35 PM
Have you guys seen this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18211&item=4542597774&rd=1

How rare is that, i didn\'t think they sold the Savannah over here?

Must be an import but i have to say if i was looking for a new car i would be taking a trip down to see it.

I believe that the early turbo II\'s were all savanna\'s and would be import only in the UK. This looks like a strange mix import as it has revised bumper, side mouldings and rear lights, but still has early side indicators and headrest speakers!!!

I have a savannah auto in black so must be very similar to yours hawker182.

there exactly the same really,of course being an import a rear fog had to be fitted!! i think i prefer the savanah model,it just looks a bit nicer, call me crazy--but i think it loks neater with the rear brake light, and i prefer the postioning of the front indicaters tooo!!!bearing in mind that the rex7 2nd gen hit japan way b4 the uk --!!! cheers colin

Ok, I stand corrected, but i thought they where more spec\'d up and had diffrent seats (the only ones to have Tan)? also to my Knolage they where all Green, A colour T2\'s where never painted?

But i may be wrong.

Yeah spot on FD3UK. I believe the only ones to only come in green a dark greeny black were the very last RX7 TII\'s to be produced, they were called the Elfini IV and were made to be a competition road car, stripped out, no stereo, no a/c, stiffened and lowered suspension. These are the rarest and were only released in Japan, find one of these and your laughing!

Took this from a website, about the Elfini IV if interested :)

"In 1991 with the end of RX-7 production came the Infini IV, a version of the RX-7 only destined for the Japan market. Again one was briefly brought over to the US where just a few journalists sampled its boosted Turbo power its improved lightweight and 25% stiffened cornering and its fantastic brake performance.

The lightweight version of the Zen religion had thrown out all the sound insulation fitted lighter seats and many components, no radio, lighter bigger exhaust and a lot of hard edged tweaking to the 13B Turbo\'s delivery and top power, (now 215 bhp) in a car dieted down to 2\'700lb, some 287lb less than a stock US spec Turbo).

The car looked a lot more shark like as it rode a full inch lower than standard on standard size wheels and special tyres, only being available in a dark green / black paint

There are VERY few Infini IV\'s in Japan and even less in Australiasia.

"Road and Track magazine said of the Infini IV :
"Through the years we\'ve seen sports cars grow larger, softer and heavier. Which makes Mazda\'s reversal of this trend more exciting. Lets hope that this Japanese market Infini\'s chassis is truly representitive of the new generation\'s and that Mazda\'s stylists have created a shape worthy of the mechanicals".

Pretty cool hey!
