taken turbo off car and the fan blades are turning freely but you can wobble them up and down and side two side does this mean they are on there way out
a turbo\'s rotating parts float on a bed of pressurised oil, therfor the bearing should have a radial clearance as I understand it, if you\'ve got play in and out thats an indication that somthings not right.
Edit - neither turbine nor compressor rotor should touch the housings with the radial play ... if they do the bearing is scrap
