regarding the crash thing. I said the same, 24, 5 years no claims, 10 days in an RX, first time it was wet, Game Over!

Drive steady mate!

Incidently I was only paying £1400 FC through Adrian Flux. Got a UK FD now and it dropped the insurance to £600, will have to see how it goes come july though with a total loss on the books.

regards

Gareth

Sorry to hear that m8, why are imports so dear to insure?? i mean there no more powerful the the uk modles, usually just come with more extras, i.e air con lol

Its so the insurers can fleece you even more than usual. They reckon that the parts are more expensive which is rubbish, plus the JDM specs are different to standard UK models.

Either way take it steady whilst your getting used to her mate. Fd\'s really do bite when those 2nd turbo\'s come in and really dont like the wet.

BTW did you sort all your engine troubles out?

Thought you meant Shell Optimax which is what most people use.
Best octane booster, by the way - Millers CVL. I\'ve used loads of different ones now and the Millers is the only one that seems to stop the det light flashing on my Skyline. From that I\'d also guess it\'s the only one that really works....

Shell sells Optimax which people say is the best premium unleaded. BP do ultimate which is ok, I think some Esso\'s do a super unleaded too.

The UK car actually comes with more stuff than the Jap version which is like you say a bit rare. The jap ones are a bit more powerful but I think it is just the insurers saying they are more difficult to repair if you bang it.

I think most of it is that the kind of people that buy imports are the kind of people likely to claim at least once at some point...

LOL no - main problem I have is that people see a flash-looking yellow car coming and do their best to run it off the road!

(I\'ve use two cars and I use the same roads in both - it\'s much harder work to drive the 8 in the SAME traffic because of this.)
