Hi I have just read in the wanted section about someone wanting an upgraded bosch type pump.(044 I think). Anyway, it was posted that you would need 2 of these little suckers drawing from the swirl pot to supply enough fuel for 600hp. But what I wanted to know is what kind of pump do you need to supply the swirl pot???
cheers, michael.
a low pressure high volume pump as used on carb\'ed engines
or a standard FD pump with a return to tank when the swirl pot is full!
I have a facet red top type pump. Would that do? Please keep in mind I am actually not aiming for 6oohp;)
All you *should* need is the stock fuel pump to the swirl pot, then something like the 044 to the fuel rails.
Fish
I did what Fish suggests and it works a treat!
depends what your car comes with stock ... not all of us drive third gens :D
Uhmmm, yeh, I dont havea 3rd gen. And am basically sourcing everything from scratch. So my theory is this so far. Stock fuel tank with fuel line going to facet red top type pump, feeding a swirl pot. From swirl pot have one high pressure fuel pump, or two lower ones feeding the fuel line, which will be 1/2 inch diameter. This will run up to my lovely engine bay to the fuel regulator and then on to the fuel rail or weber. (still cant decide what to do.) Ten have the return line feeding back into the top of the swirl pot or if it is easie the filler neck of the tank.
Does htis sound feasable? or completey wack and crazy?
Stock fuel pump has been on rotorstock auction now for a month, get in there and bid
http://www.rotarytarts.com/acatalog/Rotorstock_auction.html
Hi Gary, I tried to bid on it but I dont think it registered:confused:
I am keen to do so. Do you think I did something wrong. I just followed the buy it now button the put my amount in and then pressed confirm.
By the way i think it is a great idea.
cheers for the link.
Hi Mate
Click buy now and you should follow the pages, it will ask how much your bid is and sends me a order for the bid.
Try it should work. Ive just tried it. Twice on diff machines
Uhmm Gary I think it is time for me to come clean and admitt i am a computer deficient person. I have absolutely no doubt that it is all my stupid fault but somehow cannt register my bid. Sorry. I am just quite useless.
sorry , michael.
send the return from your rail to the swirl pot not your tank, also, if you run a carb, then you need a low pressure pump so you might as well put it where you were gonna put your facet pump, and do away with the swirl pot. Also 1/2 inch line is huge, you can get 500 rwhp on the stock 8mm FC/FD pipe.

mate your a genius coz I have it.
Hey thanks for lettingme know. Not sure how I managed it. Actually must confess my girlfriend helped. Ahe knows a bit about these new fangled things called computers.
So guys if I fo carby then I guess I could run one of the smaller square facet fuel pumps into the swirl tank then the larger one out of it.
Mind you fuel is already about 98p per litre up here on the rock so it might pay off to go for fuel injection. Probably pay for itself in about a week!
