Haven\'t seen too many threads on the subject of knock, i.e. what are the causes and what are safe limits (based on PFC readings).
I noticed on mine that it fluctuates quite a lot, but mostly sits around the 20 something mark. When I\'m under WOT it can be as low as 20 something, but normaly around 32, but occassionaly 60, and hit 100 for the first time on the weekend (which concerned me slightly).
What\'s a safe limit? And does anyone know why there\'s such a difference. I can\'t figure out why I get higher readings sometimes than others.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

When you got the reading over 100 were you perhaps low on fuel and going up an incline or round a corner? This can cause fluctuation in the pressure of the fuel if the pump empties the fuel available from the tank and there is a momentary surge.

It was wamer this weekend as well. Higher intake temps - more prone to det.
If you\'ve been going slow then all your underbonnet stuff gets hot, then when you floor it you will get higher readings than if you floor it from travelling at 30mph say.
Also fuel will make a big difference.
I\'ve been using Millers CVL octane boost in the Skyline and det has all but disappeared. I was getting the Apexi PFC det indicator flashing at WOT and high boost, but can\'t get it to flash at all with Millers CVL!
