Yep it will change your exhaust note slightly, all depends on the size of the port and the exhaust system your using. Personally the louder the better is my preference!! Go for a straight thru exhaust system and I\'d of thought you\'d notice it more, of course you\'d need a PFC if doing so.

It will also make the car sound like pure evil when idle.

Evil Idle sounds good!!:D
My exhaust system is a big downpipe from me Garrett GT40-Feed mid silencer and RB single Catback-so not loud really!

For best results I recommend removing the turbo and fitting a straight through exhaust system, ala my egi.  Then go find a long high speed tunnel to play in!  :D

Pete,

It can change it an a big way really, if you have large intake and exhaust ports, idle may not be the hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, but more of a brap brap brap etc.

Combined with a larger turbo and a straight through exhaust it can quickly become a little too loud!  :)

I\'ve got a ported engine and a striaght through exhaust, includin downpipe.

It is ****ing deafening and howls like a banshee. It also occasionally gices out huge bangs and ejects rather large flames from the exhaust. The idle is really really menacing. Anyone sat at the lights thinking about offering you a race tends to think twice when they hear it growling.

Hijack alert!

Interested to know what you have had done John, specifically about the street port with the stock non-sequential twins you are running.  How is it?

 You don\'t have to be a Pr*ck!

 Just asked a simple question!!
Yes I searched and found a few, but some may have a collection saved or have some that I have not been able to find!

You are a fine example of bringing people to the club, forum and helping and sharing with others to learn about the cars etc.

How old are you and how do you feel now!

Mate, you started it making sarky comments like \'cheers\'. I\'ve noticed you being offhand with people before & I thought I\'d pull you up on it this time. No need to get out of your pram.

Hi Chris

The original engine [which is going to be used on an other project] was my 98 unit which after 50k miles I had pulled by REworx and re-build by Carl Hayward with an extended street port, I should point out this was done purely for the additional power and not because I had issues, after the specified run in it was mapped using 1200 secondaries by REworx and produced 317atw [dyno dynamics] 342ath[abbeys] further mods were tried to improve the power 1 of which was going non-sequential although it did not improve the final output it did increase the lower power delivery[my feeling is you wont see much more than that, the turbos wont allow the flow], was great on the street and up the strip but, I was never going to see the power a well set up single would produce, hence the new set up with  rather nice porting, doweling and a few other bits and pieces [running in at the mo should be mapped next weekend :cool ]
