Title: Popup Lights
Post by: nikp on April 03, 2005, 11:20:31 AM
My FD has been sat around for several months without being used - we have just got it started and corrected a dodgy idle on it, ready for an MoT, hopefully this week. However, when we tried the ligths, one of them didn\'t pop-up. I\'m guessing that the mechanism has probly siezed or something like that. I seem to remember something about a manual release, so that it can be manually \'popped up\', but can\'t find any info on this! doh!

Can anyone confirm whether this is the case, and if so tell me whereabouts the knob is to pop the lights up, and how we go about doing this?

Cheers

The manual release knob is situated at the rear of the light , you have to disconnect the wiring from the light first then you can wind it up and down , give the mechanism a good spray with WD40 before winding it up and down and it should sort it out , you way also be able to just give the light a pull , I\'ve done this a few times before , just press on the rear and pull on the front
