Title: Boost Gauge Fitting.... Help
Post by: oRi on April 02, 2005, 11:50:37 AM
Hi Guys

Hopefully someone will know more about this than me probably everyone hehe.

Just a the RE-A steering column boost gauge. And have removed the exsting steering cowl. I clearly do not have the tools to form the electrical connections for this.

My questions are:

1. Where does the hose pass through the firewall? (Think i am going blind cos i cant see it)

2. On the existing cowl there is the little light for the immobiliser i assume i can just cut the bulb off as its only a bulb and this will not adversly effect anything else.

I am not too worried about the electrical connection as i rarely take the car out in the dark and i will eventually have the tools.

Cheers

Just one other thing:

When the hose does go through it connects to the covered nipple on the \'manifold\'.

There is a hole in the firewall in the passenger footwell. Route the hoes behind the center console and out through here. Remember to use grommets where it passes through the bulkhead to stop any chafing.

Not sure if cutting the wires for the bulb will make any differneces to the immobiliser.

As to the second question......yup! Thas where it connects to!

Hi oRi,  I had a RE-A fitted not long ago.  Hope these pics can help.
As for the electrical connection.  Mine came from the centre console, where those switches are.

Your vac pipr is going thro the over the wheel liner isnt it tried that today and for some reason couldnt seem to feed it through not sure why.

I am assuming the pipe comes through in the drivers footwell between the door and the accelerator?
