Post by: Dan Norton on March 31, 2005, 08:00:50 PM
Right lads....got my box built, amp rack etc etc...just needs trimming now..

but.....

where abouts in the bulk head did you guys run the power cable from the battery to inside the car??

i have looked on the passenger side of the bulkhead, but i cant seem to find a spare rubber gromit to put the power cable thro:confused:

any help would be massively appreciated...

thanks,

Dan!!

standing at passenger side wing at bulkhead about 8 inches down quite awkward there is a rubber grommet cant miss it..otherwise take arch liner out and u can run a cable thru there i did when relocating battery to the boot

I\'d go for the inner liner, very nice big hole. Should be able to get 0 gauge through that hole. Didn\'t know about the other one !!From what your putting in you will need it :) Have you upgraded the negative side of the battery yet ?? You need to match that with what ever positive power cable your using, bigger the better.

Thanks shaun, i havnt upgraded it yet.....going to at the weeeknd.
i\'m just trying to get everything together first before i attempt the fitting.

Is there a hole in the passenger footwell then that leads to a gap in the inner arch?

Yes, but its still a bit of a squeeze in the cockpit to get the cable to go in the right direction. If its a problem can photograph it tommorrow, all the wheel and inner liners are out at the min. I\'ve got 2x 4gauge cable running to the battery in the boot !!

Not bothering mucking about with the battery as i really wont have any room for it in the boot.....when i take some pics of the finnished install.....you\'ll see why :D

I have took the rear seats out of mine.....thats where the subs are going.

But i\'m making it all removable as i dont want the car weighed down for track days and 1/4 action.

For the power cable I made my own hole in the upper right corner of the drivers footwell, then ran it down along the driver\'s side door and past the rear speakers.

The amp switch I ran a cable from inside the radio cubby hole (spliced to my a/f meter gauge, so its only live under IGN, -I dont have a headunit btw), under the arm rest, added an on/off switch here to turn the amp off even if IGN is on, then down under the drivers seat and alongside the power cable again.

er, hope that made sense. Where\'s the ICE section, or it a long running joke :)
