Right, my Hurley exhaust has just about given up (by christ are they going to hear from me next week.....) the ghost. The manifold section has started to crack around the welds etc, only an emergency removal and repair job by my my dad and I this morning left the car usable!
So, I need to know if there is a company in the south east that can fabricate me a complete exhaust system? That way I can spec what I want and where.
Other suggestions are welcome too.
I\'d almost gotten over how much I hated Hurley until last night, amzing how old feelings return....:reallymad
have you seen these guys ? they get a lot of praise from other sites.
http://www.haywardandscott.co.uk/
I know a lot of the traders on this site do systems too ... might be worth a chat with a few of them first. I know Carl can do exhausts for starters.
i have a cat back zaust i\'ve been meaning to sell for a while if you want it (at a price ;))
Si (tries to resist vulturing the nice man with a ponchant for Hurley abuse)
PS dont suppose we can do a conference call i\'d just luv to hear it
Scoob, Brett has a 2nd gen.
Hayward & Scott made my exhaust, one of, custom made twin out let jobby, ceramic coated manifolds, but all comes at a hefty price £2.5 for system, very good job, but talking to someone at mo to make systems for me, and not quite as dear. Will post when seen quality and prices sorted, titanium to.
Brett beware when buying from the custom build guy\'s. Had a back box made up from my local Powerflow dealer years back only lasted 6 months, they just cant take the heat produced by the rotary. The thing split right through the middle.
Not saying they are not all good quality, could be some good one\'s out there.
Would advice going for a reconized make for the rotary\'s Blitz,HKS and Apexi for example. Better not too throw good money after bad.HTH cheers Leigh.

Good post Leigh because a lot of people don\'t realise what you have just said:) :) :)

Which is whats happened to my Hurley manifold, it appears to have been made up of loads of small sections (thin section at that, I would want at least 1/8th wall thickness if I was making it myself) welded. They\'ve rubbed the weld down to a smooth finish and rounded it off so that the manifold looks like two mandrel bent tubes, not 5-6 seperate pipes welded badly. ANyway, the heat from the exhaust ports has pretty much blown striaght through the manifold on the rear rotor and cracked the tube on the 2nd weld (about 2" from the port, so a very hot spot indeed), it was also cracked and holed to a lesser extent where the two pipes join under the firewall.
I\'m tempted to buy a racing beat system from the states (race one of course...:cool ..) unless I can get a good sytem over here.
(BTW the Hurley system looks stunningly similar to the RB one, not that I\'m suggesting any plagarism or the like.....;) )
Thanks for the Hayward and scott link, I will check them out.
Right, just phoned dear old Hurley.
Brett :- \'How long would you expect one of your 13B sports exhaust manifold/down pipes to last?\'
Hurley :- \'Depends entirely on how the car has been used really.\'
Brett :- \'Ok, well I brought mine from you in July 2002, since then its done around 10,000miles. Last weekend I noticed it was blowing due to cracks appearing around the weld lines.\'
Hurley :- \'Er... I\'ve never heard of one doing that before. But, regardless of the part you would have only had a one year warranty on it anyway.\'
Brett :- \'So, its not exactly common to have your manifold fall apart accross the welds then?\'
Hurely :- \'None of our exhausts have ever done that before.\'
Brett :- \'So is there anyway you can help me out then?\'
Hurley :- \'Er..No. Like I said 1 year warranty etc.\'
Brett :- \'Thank you very much. Good bye.\'
So, thats £800 for an exhaust thats pretty much fallen apart inside 10k. Didn\'t even offer to sell me a replacement part.
These guys are total tits.
i prescribe lashings of Stella & slating Hurley to anyone who will listen.
Works for me at least (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/ups/dvx_rune/smooch.gif)
Si
We had a problem with some of are silencers coming away at the welds, so have know switched to different design.
We also put a life time warranty on all Dragon Exhausts.
Would you be interested in fabricating one for my Egi then? :wave
And Si,
Stella? You want a mans drink like Hobgoblin or Skullcrusher.... :bandit
