Title: Porting and practicality
Post by: PETE SMITH on March 24, 2005, 07:37:17 PM
Just pondering over porting...the benefits are obvious (:p ), but of you guys who are ported, do any of you use your FD on a regular basis, as i do and if it means MUCH more tricky driving, i may pass on it...
Already single T and due a tip seal sort out....again!..don\'t you just love these cars..i must be a bigamist: married to my wife for 10 yrs and to Roxy for 6!!:D

Hi Pete,
It is possible to do some pretty extreme porting and still have very good driveabilty and similar fuel consumption.

Carl ported my car which he then tuned to 430 bhp (approx), and the car was as driveable as a stock car and was used as a daily driver.

mines ported. though to what degree I don\'t know as it was done before I bought it.

Drives fine,  and definitely more torquey than other rex\'s I\'ve driven

If you want a fast strret car then the "street porting" is the way to go, for a all out track car then the "bridge port" would be best. ;)
