Title: rotor went pop! arghhhh
Post by: Scot on March 19, 2005, 04:50:12 PM
My engine died yesterday, how gutting!
Only after 35k aswell.

Any ideas on for prices of a rebuild? Im wondering how much cheaper it would be doing it myself, only downside to that is the time it will take.

Any previous quotes would be great. What about buying a second hand motor, though im aware of reliability issues.

When it went it was really undramatic though, just started missing then went to one rotor. No noise or smoke, i was quite suprised.

Thanks a lot, im trying to look on the bright side of things, just gotta find the money from somewhere, any body want my body for the night? pretty cheap..............

Reworx, Hayward and WGT are ya best bet.. dragon does them but would be miles from ya.. price is gonna depend on what you need doing.. circa 3k if its a rx7 fd3 :)

best of luck :)

p.s when you say it died.. what\'s it doing?

Tip i guess, as its reading a big fat zero on the compression tester.
I wasnt doing anything to drastic, just overtaking a few unwanted cars in the road, the backed off to the limit of 40mph.

3k is what i though... how much to do it myself though....?
