dont know anything specifically so it\'s not to say they haven\'t changed but i haven\'t read about any changes/differences over the years the only difference i\'m aware of, in my ignorance, is the fact you need different ECU\'s for different years of car 92-96 96-98 & 98+ are the different years you need different ECU\'s for off top of my head....

The models are year specific:

1992-95 8-bit cars with the yellow ecu connectors as above
1996-98 16-bit cars
1999+ 16-bit cars

The ecu\'s are not interchangeable. Some Commanders are.

Older versions of the ecu\'s have older base maps on them.

cheers for the replys guys,

20B,  i think you may be the closest,  if you go to the link below and scroll down to Mazda, you can see that there are TWO sets of the three versions of Power FC.

My car being a 1994 will require the one for :

FD3S(I~III) \'91.12~\'95.11

as you can see, there are two different ones for this ,

No.   414-Z002    or     414-Z004 .

the one we see most commonly is the Z004 coz thats what people get as new now.

I have translated the page and the only difference i can see is that they take different Commanders and that the \'SERIAL\' is ZF as appossed to ZG.

sorry, long winded!!!!

back to the original question,  does anyone know if there is any problem tuning or differences in the the Z002 version?????

The only differences are slightly different figures in the base maps and other settings.

This is not a problem, both are interchangeable and both as functional.

There may be slight internal component changes, but these do not affect tuning. I have not stripped the two types apart to compare them though. All types can be accessed and programmed as required.

So long as you get the right year model, old type or new type will not matter.
