I\'m new to the forum and interested in getting an RX-7. Preferably a Mark 1 or Mark 2 model. I\'m not too clued up about RX-7s but am interested in getting a rotary engined car for something a bit different to the norm.
I\'m currently driving a Mark 1 Golf GTi and need to know if I\'d prefer an RX-7.
I\'ve only seen one RX-7 where I live and it looked like a Mark 2 Turbo II, but never got a chance to speak with the driver.
I was wondering if there are any Mark 1 or 2 RX-7 owners in the Cardiff area who may be willing to take me for a spin so I can see one in the flesh and see the performance etc.
I would probably prefer a Mark 2 due to the fact they are newer, probably lower mileage, less rust, more refined etc.
If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.
They will be VERY different to drive - RWD, turbo, and rotary. Be prepared for a learning curve! :D
There are a couple of 3rd gen rx7\'s in Cardiff i\'m sure of it, but no too sure on the TII side of things???

usually if u want some thing decent u hav to travel,
even if ur golf is a r34? vr6,gti turbo,4motion thingy.u will love the power of the rx.

one thing to point out is don\'t expect a gen 2 to have less rust than a Gen1 ;) they both rust equally well !
I didn\'t realise there were a few from around Cardiff. I live in Penarth and I\'m currently looking for a FD, I\'ve not viewed any yet. I unfortunatly had my UK gti-r written off by some idiot, but less said about that the better. The cheque for the car is due to be with me this coming week sometime so then I\'m going to be seriously looking. I\'ve read the buyers guides and done insurance quotes.
Anyway, is there anyone around cardiff that can maybe show me an FD? Perhaps show me what to look for when buying and maybe a quick spin around the block?
