Okay, in at the deep end here.. i purchased a non running rx7 3rd gen.
When trying to start the engine, it is pressurising the water system which leads me to think the water seals are well and truly dead.
The engine has done 58k, :( and has no oil leaks, a good service history, and apparently no smoke.
I am living in hope that the housings are okay, but i will know more when it is in bits next week.
I would like to tackle the engine myself, but i would like some advice on which supplier sells the best value rebuild parts. (obviously avoiding any nasty fitting gasket sets!).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Probably your best bet would be a \'master\' rebulid from Rotary Aviation, especially considering the strength of the dollar at the moment. They also do an excellent rebuild video (and DVD now, I think).
Hi Loopy onion,
If the engine has an internal coolant leak then in all likely hood the rotor housings should be replaced as they will be warped form overheating. They may look fine to the eye but if you do plan to reuse them check them for flatness very carefully.

Carl;)
