Can somebody tell me if I need to change my ecu when switching to a freeflowing downpipe and midpipe?

Hi Rogier,

lf you have changed your back silencer box you will not be able to change the mid pipe as it will fuel cut , l ran a downpipe and midpipe with stock back box for 3 years O/K but l know lt was very near fuel cut.
Hope this helps.

All the best Clive

How can I detect a fuel cut when running with such a pipe, I have a 1993 JDM type R.

Can I install something that will detect this.

60000 MIles.

You will have a sudden cut in power and a strange noise when you get fuel cut it is only for a split second and then the car is ok again but not good for the engine.

Think that might be whats happening to mine, what you described has happened a couple of times, both when under heavy acceleration just after ive put my foot down.

ECU is standard as is engine, apart from rear section of exhaust which is an aftermarket job.

There any way to get round this, I presume a new ECU like a Power FC would do the job? and how much damage is it likely to be causing?

cheers
