Title: Water Leak - but only when I first turn the emgine off!!
Post by: M@r]{ on March 13, 2005, 07:03:18 PM
Anyone have an idea what might be the cause of this:  When I turn the engine off I have water coming out, but seems ok when im driving.  I just pulled up, left the engine running looked underneath and  it was fine, switched the engine off and it starts leaking????

At one point I did get a weird tapping noise from the stainless steel \'header tank?\' at the front of the engine bay.  My thought is possibly an air lock?

While im at it, how can I tell how much water to put in, as im having to top it up im worried i may be over filling it.

Thanks in advance

I had a very similar problem, the car dumped some coolant when stopped. I traked it down to being a perished seal on the AST tank cap. Once I replaced that it never happened again.

I got mine from RE:worx but you could get one from RX Motors, WGT, Dragon, Rotary Tarts, Shyauto etc etc etc.
