Was a longtime coming but well worth the wait!
Heres a few pics, quality aint too great, but will post some better ones when i get a chance, too busy driving at the mo :D
and another...
one more, will get some better (and smaller!) ones soon......
Lovely jovely! looks beautiful. So tell us some more about the car, year model, mods. etc.
Nice one!
Car looks sweet, looks like you have got your hands on a clean car.
If you want pictures resized mail them to me, and I\'ll do it for you.
Dan
Its a 1996 type RB, 47000 miles with an engine rebuild about 5000 miles ago. Sourced through Miguel at Newera.
Engine wise its standard apart from rear section of exhaust and an Apex\'i dual chamber blow off valve, not sure what make exhaust is but has a lovely burble to it, as its only the back section ECU is standard (for now :))
Body kit is by C-West, had it fitted when it got to the UK. Never saw the car in the flesh without it on! Pictures dont do it justice, gets so much attention just driving down the street and have lost count number of times people have asked me what it is! Plus havent got any badges on the back so they dont get a clue :)
Future mods will be usual induction kit, ECU (prob Power FC), and downpipes and de-cat or high flow one, plus fuel injectors and an uprated pump if needed. Also might go for a Scoot bonnet. Will be a while though cause my fuel bill has become a lot higher :), worth it though!
Wow what a great looking car ,
Any chance of bringing it along to Billing, or Thorsby or pub meet or or , sorry rambling now, only happens when l see a good looking Rotary !!
All the best Clive

Yeah, i\'ll definately come to some of the club meets, not sure which ones though at the mo. Be nice to see some more RX\'s and the mods people have done, bit of inspiration!
Quick query while im on here, where\'s the most common place to fit a boost gauge? and can anyone recommend any accurate models, or are they all pretty good?
ooh gimmi that bumper! just missing that hehe
Have you got a new sideskirt on now then?
Lee
arrived today mate.
Dunno whether to get it on there asap of take some moulds of it so it doesn\'t happen again
Either way i\'m having both of them bonded as I don\'t think the Cwest skirts hold very well with tape and bolts
Looks fab mate, we have a monthly meet in Dartford which is round the corner from you so look forward to meeting you and your car in person.
rgds
Yeah if you let me know when the July/August meets are i\'ll see if i can pop along.
Come back past dartford on way home from picking up car, sounded good in the tunnel :D
After a quick nose around have found out exhaust is made by Kakimoto Racing.
Anybody know much about this make? I havent heard much about them so dont know their reputation/quality of products.
If it looks pretty, which you can’t really tell due to the rear bumper and sounds nice (i.e. you like it), it doesn’t really matter.
Some neighbours tend not to like noisy exhausts. Mine however just laugh, and think I\'m mad! Not far wrong mind you. ;)
Dan
My neighbours seem ok with it at the mo, dont know how long that will last though, especially when i\'ve been working nights and leave it ticking over for a few mins on the drive at 6am:D
I have the same problem being on call every so often. Starting up my scoob which was even louder than the FD was interesting shall we say. ;)
I just park up around the corner away from them, and then after a couple of minutes poodle back home.
Dan
Nice ride, I would 86 those wheels though. It needs to be lowered some too. It looks like and SUV on those tiny wheels and stock springs.
Go wide on the rears.
lovely car!!
any chance of a head on pic of the front bumper, i am torn between the c-west one and another, i\'d like to see what the c-west front looks like without a front mount intercooler, and also, did the brackets for the reg plate come with it standard or did you get them elsewhere?
ryan
Yeah no prob ryan, i\'ll take some pics as soon as i get back, im sunning myself in majorca at the mo!
Brackets didnt come with it, but people who put the kit on for me put one on.
Im gonna put mesh in the front opening soon, rad\'S quite exposed at the moment, dont wanna risk a stone punching a hole in it, the smaller openings on each side come with mesh already in them. i\'ll take a pic before and after so you can see what it looks like.
Whats the other bumper you were thinking about?
Andy

lovely jubbly, did your licence plate brackets come with your kit?? i really need to get some if they dont come with it, i can imagine being pulled over on my way home from the bodyshop
yeah the convertors did it for me, give motormall a ring see how they did it, sure they\'ll be nice and tell you...
Don\'t worry about being pulled thou, just wack it on the dash and tell em to shut up ;)
I\'d be more worried about the cost. C-West is SO expensive... but def worth it :D
Nice FD bro it makes me want mine all the more! How much did
you pay for it?Nice color and Bodykit, you bought it like this right?
:cool

yeah thats the problem, i have a habit of cracking my bumper, but theres a fantastic c-west replice front end thats identical for $650 so thats pretty cheap and when i crack it i wont mind AS much :)

i wish that was mine mate!! i was just showing how i couldnt decide between the front bumper on that or the c-west one :D
it is a lovely car though!! :)

Cheers mate, paid around £10,000 for it on jap Import. Came fully kitted like that. Would NOT like to spend that much doing it up hehe. Good to see ya from Detroit, do like it there. My family live in Rochester (Mi) out in the sticks, bloomin lovely! :)

There\'s a simple solution to that. Buy the proper one and make a mould of it. That\'s all the replica ones are, plus you can make a few quid on selling it to the rest of us when we crack ours :)
Andy, would you be interested in a mould of the rear bumper?
Can\'t promise i\'ll ever get round to doing it it cos im not sure where/how to get it done, but if a few people want one im sure something can be arranged.
Do bumpers need repainting after a mould has been taken, or is the stuff used quite gentle on the paint?

I like the red front bumper! looks sweet, have they got a website so I can order it?

yes they have
www.mbautosports.com (//www.mbautosports.com)
its called the "Feed Version 1 99-Spec Style Body Kit" or something like that, no idea why because its nothing like a feed bumper!
its $275 dollars but to the uk they wanted $300 dollars shipping. i suppose that reasonable, but just ironic that the shipping it more than the part :rollin
here\'s the specific link:

Think it depends on where you get it done. I\'ve just had to buy a new Cwest sideskirt in after sadly loosing one, but they are made of Fibreglass. Mine needed spraying (only a cost of 100 quid including bonding) but not knowing enough about fibre glass I couldn\'t tell ya really.
Not sure about the bumper, havn\'t seen it in the flesh yet, if you come along to Billing in a couple of weeks I wouldn\'t mind having a peak at it ;)
Tell ya what though, i\'d get ya skirts bonded on as I think that body kit tape is CRAP and it does wear after time, if you loose one ya looking at around £620 for one or £900 for two + spraying  Cost ya about £30 to get em bonded
Thanks for the tip, they look pretty secure at the moment, got the screws each end, might even be bonded already, but last thing i wanna do is lose one so i think i\'ll get that checked out.
Might see about getting them blended in aswell, i like the way they look now, but think they might look a bit better if there isnt any ridge between top of the skirts and quarter panels.
Should be at Billing, will give me a chance to check out your sleek light conversion too :)
hehe cool mate, hope to see ya there!
Mine was stuck on with the tape and bolts... then the next minute it wasn\'t hehe. It\'s best to get it checked out, trust me, it\'s DAM expensive to replace hehe
hope to see ya soon!

Where are you currently at?Can you please translate how much that is in U.S dollars?I love it in Detroit, lots of racing action, but Im fed up with seeing so many Mustangs and Camaro SS\'s!Im getting a FD May of next year after Graduation.Can\'t wait!Good luck with your car.Later!
:cheers
Ahh i\'m in the UK now bout 45 miles north of London but i\'m wanting to go back to the USA probably next year. I know what you mean about the cars... you\'d stand out like a sore thumb with an FD, there\'s way too many Vettes, SUV\'s etc and not enough Jap cars hehe, and everything is so much cheaper out there too :(
Only trouble is your lacking decent corners to zoom around, so you\'ll have to bring it to the UK hehe
£10,000 = $16000
