Title: oil pressure gauge
Post by: brian snapes on March 11, 2005, 07:42:20 PM
My oil pressure gauge is erratic. I believe this is a common fault. Does anyone know where the fault normally is. sender or gauge.Alot of owners fit after market gauges but I would prefer to use existing hole, can a totally different gauge be fitted in the original hole.

Fault is normaly on the sender connection , I\'ve read a couple of fixes but never really tried any of them apart from cleaning the connection

The fixes are I\'ve heard of are -

clean the spade connection on the sender and lead

take out and clean the sender unit ( I read this somewhere )

run a new cable from sender to gauge

Best bet is to go for an aftermarket gauge , there is a how to to fit SPA dual digital gauges in place of the origional gauges , there nice gauges its just a shame they don\'t match the rest of the dash
